Hey guys,

Are there ever any skim comps on the Goldie? I see exile has some coming events in Melbourne, but can't seem to find anything... really keen to check one out and learn some more skills. Wecs

na mate, never has, never will be i say, most i can recall skimming at one time was at burleigh beach was 6 of us, and past few years theres only been really me, dan (unique83) & matt walsh who have skimmed gold coast, waves aren't consistent enough for a comp, but if ya keen for a slide we are always up for it.

also forgot to mention from time to time we have inter state members come and skim which always makes it more enjoyable.

Huh? I wasn't talking about Florida, I was talking about Qld.

And yeah, I've kinda noticed the breaks here aren't great for skimming, which is why I was thinking about investing in a Lowen 88 board after chatting with a guy down at Burleigh riding a cabon one (maybe he's on here??). They look like they'd be able to get further out and heaps more bouyent.

I'm interested to know what you seem to perceive or assume too.
Tell me, what , where and when you have heard.

As for the Lowen boards, to say it might get you 'out' further' pfftt, its up to the rider to push his skills a little more, I cannot recommend a board that would have much more of an edge over others, ITs the skill level, that helps too..
and it wouldn't be very noticeable to such a good rider, riding a quality board.Regardless.
If the waves are too far out. Choose another break ... something suitable to ones skimboarding skills.
or as is mostly said, hahhahaa,, run faster.......drop smoother..... slide cleaner....
